An Oracle functional consultant provides solutions for Oracle database applications, and develops designs and solutions for the management of information for various companies and organizations. Oracle functional consultants are IT professionals who are responsible for providing Oracle application solutions to clients in various industries such as telecommunications, cable networks, manufacturing, IT, banks, universities and hospitals. These consultants are experts in database management, and often work closely with clients in order to analyze business and information requirements, as well as design and implement client data-management applications. They also collaborate with other IT professionals to define and implement solutions related to enterprise resource planning.

Oracle functional consultants often work in an office environment, and may work in a corporate building, or remotely form home. The chief role of an Oracle functional consultant is to understand the customer’s requirements and business process, and apply them to the Oracle data management system as best as possible.
